Commemorating the Moon Landings

We first reached the moon on today's date: July 20th, 1969. A date we should all know by heart, but unfortunately many of us take it for granted. In rememberance, Google is honoring today with a nifty little application that lets us all learn (a bit) about and explore the moon for ourselves. Just click on the moon.

And be sure to check out some of the other wonderous free-ware offered by Google - such as this freaky cool interactive map of a planet called Earth.

We should also remember those astronauts who died in order to make that happen.
